Blind woman found dead on Lewis County property

CHEHALIS, Wash. (AP) - The Lewis County sheriff's office says a 94-year-old woman who was legally blind but liked to walk on her property along the Chehalis River was found dead.

When family members didn't find her at her home Tuesday in the Curtis area they started searching. They found her body down a steep embankment, on rocks in the river.

Family members had been with her Monday night at the home.
