Fatal bicycle crash on logging road near Belfair

BELFAIR, Wash. (AP) - A woman hiking with two sons on a logging road near Belfair Monday discovered the body of a man who died in a bicycle crash.

The Mason County sheriff's office says it was apparent at the scene the man had crashed his bicycle. An autopsy showed 34-year-old Jared W. Shumaker of Belfair died of head and neck injuries consistent with the accident.

The Olympian reports ( http://bit.ly/155AhoD) the hikers came across a barking dog that wanted to be followed. The dog led them to Shumaker's body.
