PUYALLUP, Wash. (AP) - A dozen people are suing the city of Puyallup, claiming they were inappropriately videotaped while undressing or using the toilet at the city jail.
The News Tribune of Tacoma reported ( http://bit.ly/16RRWH8) that the lawsuit was filed Thursday by 11 women and one man in Pierce County Superior Court. Police Chief Bryan Jeter and Lt. Edward Shannon also are named as defendants.
The plaintiffs, who had been arrested on misdemeanor charges of drunken driving, are seeking unspecified damages for civil rights violations and invasion of privacy.
In July, the city had denied liability in a letter sent to one of the three attorneys representing the plaintiffs.
