Inslee, UK Minister Barker sign climate agreement

SEATTLE (AP) - Gov. Jay Inslee United Kingdom Energy and Climate Change Minister Greg Barker have signed a clean energy partnership agreement.

The declaration signed Thursday seeks greater collaboration on reducing carbon emission, energy efficiency strategies and clean transportation.

Inlsee's office said the agreement could lead to greater cooperation on issues surrounding climate change among other western states with the U.K., which is currently implementing an energy bill to decarbonize its electricity sector by 2050.
