Yakima private investigator accused of tampering

YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A Yakima private investigator is accused of witness tampering by offering money or other compensation to crime victims and witnesses to change their police statements.

The Yakima County sheriff's office says the 38-year-old woman was acting on behalf of crime suspects in cases that included assaults and homicide.

She was arrested Friday and held on $2 million bail for a Monday afternoon court appearance.
