Car fleeing trooper crashes into Buena home

YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State Patrol says a car fleeing from a trooper near Toppenish ran through a stop sign at Buena (byoo-EN'-uh) and crashed into a mobile home, injuring a 14-year-old girl.

The patrol says the crash happened just before midnight Tuesday on the Yakima Valley Highway as the trooper chased the driver from Toppenish.

The driver, 20-year-old Nathena Jim of Wapato, was treated at Yakima Memorial Hospital and then booked in the Yakima County jail for investigation of drunken driving, eluding and vehicular homicide.

The 14-year-old girl who was in the home was taken to Yakima Memorial Hospital.
