Former Gonzaga basketball player now Spokane cop

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Former Gonzaga basketball player Winston Brooks was one of five new police officers sworn in Tuesday in Spokane.

Brooks was a Bulldog point guard for the 2001-to-2003 teams.

KHQ reports ( http://nbcnews.to/HTtlYx) he also has worked with Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, police and as a Spokane County juvenile corrections officer.

Former Gonzaga star and NBA Hall of Fame player John Stockton was one of the people at the officers' swearing-in ceremony to congratulate Brooks.
