Navy destroyer Shoup returns to EverettNovember 18, 2013 @ 1:02 pm
EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - The guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup returned Monday to its home port at Everett.
It had been deployed since January, operating with the aircraft carrier Nimitz in the Persian Gulf region. The Nimitz is expected back at its Everett home port by Christmas.
Of the nearly 300 sailors streaming off the ship, The Daily Herald reports ( http://bit.ly/1ip85Yc) 11 were fathers who were seeing their babies for the first time.
