Chiropractors head to Haiti, Dominican Republic

NEW YORK (AP) - A team of 68 chiropractors from around the world is heading to Haiti and the Dominican Republic for 10 days to provide humanitarian relief.

Some chiropractors will fly out of the United States Thursday while Paris and Barcelona, Spain will contribute chiropractors as well. Others will leave over the next week from Atlanta, Portland, Ore., Seattle and Charlotte, N.C. A group leaving Thursday from New York includes Mission Life International President Peter Morgan and its vice president, Gary Deutchman (DOITCH-man).

They will provide chiropractic care for children and adults along with food assistance. The group also sponsors an orphanage for the children of parents who died in the January 2010 earthquake.

Deutchman said thousands of people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic will receive free chiropractic services during the effort.
