Police: 1 arrested in deadly Yakima shooting

YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) -- Yakima police have arrested one person in connection with a Saturday night shooting after a rap concert.

A 22-year-old died from a chest wound in the hospital after the shooting and a 19-year-old was wounded.

The Yakima Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1di9AI9 ) police believe the person in custody was responsible for shooting both men. Few details about the victims or the person arrested have been released.

Lt. Nolan Wentz says the second gunshot victim is expected to recover. An autopsy on the other man was scheduled for Monday.

The shooting happened just after 11 a.m. outside the all-ages music event featuring local artists.

Wentz says police are not sure if the shooting was gang-related but he believes there may have been gang members at the event.
