Spokane woman killed in crash near Newport

NEWPORT, Wash. (AP) -- A Spokane woman was killed in a rollover crash about 3 a.m. Friday on Highway 211 near Newport.

The Washington State Patrol says 40-year-old Barbara Pierre lost control of her car and it landed in a creek north of Davis Lake.

The Spokesman-Review reports (http://bit.ly/1h32FOf ) a 37-year-old man riding in her car was injured and taken to Newport Hospital.

Troopers believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
