Older La Center couple die in murder-suicide

LA CENTER, Wash. (AP) -- The Clark County sheriff's office says an older couple died in a murder-suicide shooting at a home near La Center.

Deputies were called to the home Monday by a man who had not heard from his mother for several days.

They entered the house and found the bodies of 70-year-old Fay Marie Allen and 71-year-old Milton "Wayne" Allen. The sheriff's office says evidence indicates he shot her and then took his own life.

There was a hang-up 911 call from the home three days earlier. The sheriff's office says a deputy was dispatched but the call was canceled. The deputy has been placed on leave for an internal investigation.
