Kreidler to meet with Obama on health care reformApril 15, 2014 @ 5:40 pm
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- Washington state Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler is traveling to Washington, D.C. to discuss health care reform issues with President Barack Obama.
Kreidler will join other state insurance commissioners at Thursday's meeting at the White House. Kreidler's office says that likely subjects to be discussed are the current demographics in health plans, consumer access to information about doctors and hospitals in the networks, and access to care.
More than 550,000 people have signed up for health care through the new state exchange since it went online in October. Most of those new enrollees are for Medicaid, but more than 146,000 have signed up for private individual plans.
