Seattle police officer accused of molestation

SEATTLE (AP) -- The Snohomish County sheriff's office says a veteran Seattle police officer has been arrested in a child molestation case.

KOMO-TV reports (http://is.gd/CwhtDI) the officer was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on Monday for investigation of child molestation and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

The sheriff's office reports the officer is accused of molesting his former girlfriend's daughter on several occasions between 2009 and 2013.

Deputies arrested the 57-year-old suburban Bothell resident after a two-week investigation. They say the victim was between 7- and 11-years old at the time of the alleged conduct.

The Seattle Police Department says the officer has been put on administrative leave.
