Guard, other man wounded in Seattle bank shootingJuly 24, 2014 @ 10:36 pm
SEATTLE (AP) -- Harborview Medical Center says two men wounded in a shooting at a Seattle bank are in critical condition.
Police say a 46-year-old security guard and a 30-year-old man were both shot with the guard's gun in a struggle about 11 a.m. Thursday outside a Bank of America branch in the Central District.
The Seattle Times reports (http://is.gd/gRzwxR ) that according to police, the guard contacted the younger man before he entered the bank. It was unclear whether the man planned a robbery.
Police say the man wrestled the guard's handgun away and shot the guard. The man suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder, and then shot himself in the head.
Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore said the guard was shot twice, and the other man suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say they hope to piece together what happened through witness interviews and video-surveillance footage.
