WASHINGTON (AP) - Family members of the American missing in Iran for four years have met with FBI Director James Comey.
In a statement released late Friday, several members of Robert Levinson's family said they met with Comey in Washington earlier in the day, in their words, "to call on the U.S. government to fulfill its moral obligation" to Levinson.
An Associated Press report published last week found that Levinson was in Iran working for the CIA _ investigating the Iranian government. The U.S. long has publicly described Levinson as a private citizen who traveled to an Iranian island on private business.
Levinson's family says they have also requested meetings with Secretary of State John Kerry and President Barack Obama.
Obama left Friday evening for a 16-day vacation in Hawaii.
