Mardi Gras ball 1st Superdome event since blackout

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The lights stayed on in the Superdome for a black tie ball and concert that was the first major test for the venue since the Super Bowl blackout.
The glitzy Mardi Gras Krewe of Endymion rolled its massive float through the dome and singer Kelly Clarkson performed amid the purple, green and gold lights.
Revelers at the ball said the power outage was in the back of their minds and they were glad the problem seems to have been fixed.
The stadium's electricity provider, Entergy, has come under scrutiny since the lights went dark for more than a half hour.
