Is a "Tea Party" Congress at fault?

Voters in the 10th Congressional District will choose between Democrat Denny Heck and Republican Dick Muri. Heck is out with his first TV ad and it seems to me if voters are paying attention, it is an argument AGAINST electing him.

Heck is trying to say it's the influence of the Tea Party that has people irritated with Congress. But let's all think back to 2010--when Democrats controlled super majorities in BOTH the House of Representatives and the Senate. THAT's when Democrats shoved through Obamacare using parliamentary gimmicks even AFTER Massachusetts--MASSACHUSETTS!--elected a REPUBLICAN to replace Ted Kennedy because they didn't like the direction the country was headed. The Democrat controlled Senate hasn't come forward with a budget (despite being legally required to do so) in years.

Now Heck wants you to believe that we need a return to the pre-tea party era of Congress--an era in which people were even more annoyed with their lawmakers than they are currently.

Tempermentally, Heck strikes a moderate pose. But this "Give Congress Heck" ad strikes me as his way of saying "Let's do our part to bring back Speaker Pelosi."

I don't think that's the kind of "Heck" voters have in mind, but he has the money to sell it.

    It's typical Boze. Ignoring that SINCE 2010's election, Congress' approval rating has dropped to the lowest EVER and gee - The REPUBLICANS in Congress have a far lower approval rating than the Democrats in Congress... How can you possibly spin that Boze? Only by ignoring reality and living in that right wing alternate reality where everything (including the weather and how nice your flowers don't look) can be blamed on Obama...

    Obama's OWN DEMOCRATS wont even vote for his Budget proposals...See, here's the BIG DIFFERENCE: the TEA PARTY wants to STOP PISSING AWAY TAX DOLLARS. The Democrats spend money like a drunken teenage girl with her Daddy's credit card. Grow up and face the FACTS! If yoiu think its OK to continue to go in debt at the rate of over $1.3 TRILLION every year and not balancing a budget (CBO numbers) then you sir are an enemy of the people and a nothing short of a traitor. Don't blame this friggin mess on the Republicans!

I certainly don't believe so,LAME is signing a pledge for a guy like Norquist who did not elect you to represent him and doing whats BEST for Grovers Lobby Group and NOT whats Best for the voters.GOP leadership also failed when they did not come forward and condemn members who signed these pledges.Face it you Rightys have NO problem spending $$$ and Romneys pledge to actually ADD to the military budget shows thats true.How do you feel about Romney adding TRILLIONs to the defense budget when even the military does not want the gear and the troops,and where is Mitt going to get the money?

    The only thing I really care about is getting the country back on track and Obama is FAILING We the People! If you were really in the Marines, certainly you would have respect for a leader. Obama is NOT A LEADER! As another blogger on this site so eloquently put it: A leader doesn't have to be right all the time, a leader doesn't have to be successful all the time, a leader doesn't need to have all his views and ideology endorsed and supported. A leader provides a common purpose for a company, a team, a country to work towards instead of dividing them. Seriously - What does Obama have for a track record? He's made more TV appearances than any president in history. He's played more golf than any president in history. He brags about saving the auto industry - yet that was one of his greatest failures. Instead of working with the bankruptcy courts, he issues an executive order, bypassing Congress and uses our taxpayer dollars to buy votes from the Unions. Why follow Obama - because he promises "Free Stuff". What else does he have to offer........ "Nothing" Obama is NOT A LEADER...I wouldn't be so hard core to the right if this guy wasn't such an idiot!

    The constitution doesn't talk about "A LEADER," it talks about being the CIC and president. It's hilarious to hear right wing nutcases on one hand say they are for the constitution and on the other hand rant in total opposition to the same document. Now that's confusion! ;)

    Fathom the HYPOCRISY - Of a Government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured...but not everyone must prove they are a citizen. And now, any of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance BECAUSE THEY ARE CITIZENS.     Sorry Dave, I don't think most folks are going to make your connection with the Tea Party. Most in the state will just vote their default Democrat position with little thought or discernment. Along that shallow vein of decision making, some might be put off by his dweebish appearance but I must say Dick Muri, much as I like him, doesn't really resound in the dynamic looks department either.
