Joe Biden debate

The Left thinks Biden won because he was rude

I was reading some columns in Slate and Politico this morning in which liberals were ecstatic that "Joltin Joe Biden" wiped the floor with Paul Ryan. Roger Simon opined, "Biden smirked, sneered, and openly laughed at many of Ryan’s responses. It could have looked rude, but Biden made it look tough."

Really?

I thought it made him look childish, small, rude, and diminished his office. It was as though he watched the infamous Gore vs. Bush debate and thought, "That big sigh behind Bush was a master stroke!"

Columns on the left are relishing in the attacks on Ryan because it's how they feel. They WANT him attacked. They want a big fight. They believe this is the kind of thing that Obama should have been doing last time around.

They're wrong.

I can't imagine non-political voters--those not engrossed in the horse race, but endure it to perform their civic duty every 2 to 4 years--will see this rudeness as a plus.

In 2008 the Obama promise was of a new era of Hope and Change that would herald a new tone in Washington. If the 2008 campaign were a fruit it would be a fruit from Eden, promising paradise. Four years later, the fruit has proven that while it was beautiful to look at, it was poor to consume. And Biden's performance exposed a rotten core with his rude laughter like the buzzing of flies around the carcass of what might have been.

    But it applies.

Once again this administration demonstrated not only that there is no leadership in Washington but there is no self-control.

Did Biden look, act, and speak like a leader? Biden struck me as extrememly vile and hateful and will play well to those that share those sentiments.

Follow the liberal blogs, the Chris Matthews, the Maddows and you'll see the elation and adoration for Biden in this debate....

Pretty amazing... one that will go down in the history books as contributing to the Democrats and their own self-destruction.....

It's wonderful that it energized the Liberals.. but their votes have already been cast...

Prediction - another point or two drop in the Polls on Monday for Obama.

    Agree
He did look like a four year old. Obama was polite, he was crucified. Biden was a jerk, he looked like a jerk. Ok but.....for God's sake, can we actually talk about the content. OUR MILITARY IS WAY TOO BIG, its breaking this country. And for Ryan to exclaim that our military should be bigger (like the 2,000 tanks being built that nobody wants) or that we should do more in Syria and potentially be in a third war, or that we should reignite the cold war with Russia is absolutely ignorant. We will go broke if we continue to police the world. Our sons and brothers are dying in remote mountains in endless wars. I can't vote for this---even if Biden does smurk too much.

    Biden was Rude
I'm an independent who stupidly voted for Obama last time around. I am voting for Romney this time. I felt Biden was rude and immature and not taking the issues seriously. I looked at Ryan as earnest, sincere, and just trying to talk about the issues. I think it was an insult to the American people for Biden to act like it was a big joke.

OK; I just want to say...........
.....that I want to be introduced to a "non-political voter". Isn't that like saying a "non-violent assassin"? I would hope that ALL voters are at least somewhat politically driven; it would indicate that they are paying attention. No matter who they vote for.

    Biden overdid the 'act.'
The giggling and smiling made his actually serious moments seem contrived in comparison.

According to the Left Biden would have won even if he should up and blew chunks all over the table!
And at what point, did Biden answer any questions about the ObamaEconomy?

"I was reading some columns..." Yeah, and a heck of a lot of other columns thought Biden won for other reasons.... I see you're not up to the challenge of going after the big fish, but instead seem to be splashing about in the shallow end these days...

    10-12-2012 The left thinks...
Did anyone notice how Radditz protected 0'biden, interjected herself into the stream of talk, and generally did what she could to influence the result? Biden, like 0bama, HAS NOTHING. The leftist crew doesn't have the first clue about what to do. They're like kids who've gotten into the candy store, running amok and tearing everything up. Biden simply refused to engage Ryan, and as a defensive move it was the only thing he could do. Each time he began to engage Ryan began to rip and Biden backed away into his elderly version of the demonizer in chief. They got NOTHING and it shows so clearly without the media filter.
