Wal*Mart Shoppers showing some holiday spirit..

If the Grinch really wanted to ruin Christmas, turned out all he had to do was put cell phones on sale and the Whos down in Whosville would have destroyed themselves...

In the "War on Christmas", Christmas just lost....
and at WalMart, of all places. WalMart is very closely identified with conservative politics in the United States, they are supposed to be protecting and revering Christmas. It's those dirty, stinking, pinko, liberals that don't have any respect for the holiday....or at least that what it says here in the Book of Talking Points.

The sheeple in the video forget that:

    1) WalMart almost single handedly reduced their downtown business district, with dozens of small businesses and family wage jobs, to a vacant wasteland. Litter and sagebrush blow down the roads where the American dream used to prosper.

    2) WalMart demanded not only low prices, but the *world's* lowest prices from suppliers, forcing any American manufacturers who wanted to do business with WalMart to move their factories, and jobs, to China.

WalMart replaced a few of the local jobs they destroyed with mini-wage retail clerk positions. Until the courts intervened several years ago, WalMart employees were expected to perform many hours slave labor each week (unpaid "off the clock")in addition to the time for which they were compensated. No overtime, no benefits, no future, no respect.

Meanwhile, the heirs of Sam Walton amassed personal fortunes in the hundreds of billions. Huge percentages of WalMart profits are diverted to the Walton Foundation. That foundation funds conservative political efforts to additionally ease the "tax burden" on the wealthy, reduce (and hopefully, eventually eliminate) minimum wage regulations, and fight against any government program that benefits the poor at the expense of the wealthy.

Then they put a pile of cheap Chinese cell phones in the middle of the store and laugh while the desperate, unwashed masses come to blows over the pile of cheap loot.

It's like some monarch dumping tainted food into the middle of the street during a famine.

All Wal-Mart rants aside, the more obvious message of the video was that a lot of well-fed people will demean themselves over bobbles. Who are the people who do this? I have yet to talk to one person that claims to have been to one of these black Friday events - odds are good that some of them have been, but are rightfully ashamed to admit it. Although the "tainted" part fits, I don't think the rest of your analogy applies here.

    Don't we
see at least one instance of this every year on Black Friday? It's sad that people will risk injury to themselves or injure someone else just for a good deal.
