The "truce" in the Middle East

While news organizations were trumpeting news of a "truce" between Israel and Hamas, I found myself watching in wonder about how we cover Middle East events. The "truce" was described as though both parties tripped into war and were getting a hand up to get out of it instead of a cessation of hostilies that erupted when Hamas decided that focusing on the outsider-Jewish state as the enemy would gain them domestic political capital.

It seems obvious to me that Hamas is still dedicated to war. They just want a cease-fire because they didn't want too much war against them right now.

    "It seems obvious to me that Hamas is still dedicated to war." Does it seem obvious to you that Israel is still dedicated to a SIEGE/BLOCKADE of the Gaza strip? Israel controls: Gazan's airspace, Gazan's Water, Gazan's currency, Gazan's sea coast, Gazan's Borders (less Egypt), Gazan's electricity, and all visitors, commerce, etc. UK PM David Cameron refers to the Gaza strip as a "sort of open-air prison." Guess who is the Warden?
