'Stop watching Two and a Half Men!' says star of show

Hollywood is abuzz with talk about Angus T. Jones, the child (now adult) star of the hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men" which continues to be popular despite the departure of star Charlie Sheen. Jones is asking fans of the show to stop being fans. He's says the show is "filth" and that fans of the show are messing with their brains by watching it and putting their eternal lives at risk.

The mocking has already begun of this young man and of course many are asking if he's going to be giving away the fortune he made (and is making) as a part of the show. Some are already dismissing what this kid is saying as the rantings of a "Jesus freak." I will say that as someone who doesn't watch a whole lot of TV (I tend to download or stream the shows I want to see,) when I have flipped through the channels and landed on "Two and a Half Men" I was taken aback by how raunchy the comedy is in prime time. Of course, the same is now true of most comedies.

(talk of the show starts about 7:20 in...)

    This is a crock
This kid is making 350,000 dollars an episode not 22 in a year do the math not to mention when it goes into sydication he will make more. He has been in doctrinated into this false belief that somethign bigger is at work. You never once hear him mention that he is giving back his money. Most contracts have out clauses, he can get fired like Sheen did. So if this clown really wanted out as he says he does he would say somthing like "like i could find a way like you know its evil" but not evil enough for him to get fired over, nope he keeps on making his millions a year, for 9 YEARS.

...with a loaded bank account. I presume he will be donating all of his smut tainted gains to a suitable charity and devote the remainder of his life to something more wholesome.

I won't hold my breath, however.

I guess you have to have a heart in order to have a change of heart. Perhaps you should try it before dictating what others do after their change of heart.

I pointed out his apparent hypocrisy. I am vindicated by his recanting his comments.

he's not doing the nasty things on the show, just like dave should not quit kiro because dave ross is a flaming liberal and works at kiro.

I remember reading awhile back at what a great student this kid was in school and that he really wanted to go to college. This acting thing was never really his first passion, according to a story I read. If he really is that unhappy with this gig, he should probably find ways to get out of that contract rather than going out there and openly trashing the hand that has been feeding him. That is an important lessen we should all teach our kids when they start working - never burn your bridges. It's just the classy and professional way to handle business dealings.

He just today said he didn't mean anything he said yesterday about the show. Then he said that tomorrow he will be absolutely honest about how he feels, but that we shouldn't believe anything he says today.

    Young, confused and wealthy......
the kid has obviously been touched by some religious guy who has him under his "spell". Give him time. He will see his way out, we hope.

Keep in mind that Angus is still young and he has a bank account that most of us had to earn. At that age, we (most anyway) were trying to find our way. Well, at least I was. The rest of you perfect ones were already there!

Give him time and see what he says in the near future as he matures.....

That is a horrible show. A good well placed sex joke isn't the end of the world, but that show was/is comedic pornography. Glad someone got a conscious. Watch what you want in your own home, but this garbage as blasted over the airways in primetime to kids across the country. Do you really want your kids to have access to this and then to think of women this way?

Or even worse, do I want my son to think that being a metrosexual buffoon with a dangling sack of cork will land you the babes that these guys wind up with every other episode? This show is almost as bad as "Friends".

    @ AJ McCarrell
My comment had nothing to do with religion. It was more focused toward his heart and mind. He is speaking more from rote than he is from his heart. He is just echoing what this guy next to him has said, that is why he struggled for words at times.

Personally, I am not the type who is in to "filth". Not a fan of his show. I am actually turned off by a lot of the programming we have today. But I try not to be self righteous about it as many on blogs are.

If Angus is sincere, he will find his way. Right now he is as I mentioned "under his spell". Just mimicking what he hears, but not speaking from the heart.

    BTW: I am not "screwed up" as you suggested, just because we don't share an opinion..... ;-}
