VIDEO: President Obama's 2nd Inaugural Speech

Watch the speech here, and render judgment in the comment section. Do you feel more or less hopeful? From the speech, can you gather what he'd like to accomplish in his second term?

I thought the president looked a little tired. His speech a vague retread of speeches I'd already heard. The president's nods toward limited government and tackling the deficit rang especially hollow, masking a call for bigger government.

He of course knocked down some straw men of his creation. But even his most lofty phrases seemed like pale retreads of promises made 4 years ago. His most memorable phrase dealt with his newfound conversion to being an advocate for same-sex marriage, saying that "if we are truly created equal" then surely "the love we commit to one another" should be equal as well.

His delivery was confident, but almost bored--surely subdued. He was a man playing a part not a man outlining his convictions.

All in all, the highlight of his speech was his adorable daughters sitting behind their father. It's hard not to like a man with a smiling family behind him.
