Bloomberg opens up on gun control...or at least control.

Mayor Bloomberg was asked some pointed questions on gun control by conservative reporter Jason Mattera. After the questioning, Mattera was asked on the city sidewalk for his photo ID and birthdate. If he were a Gitmo detainee, the ACLU and MSNBC would have been outraged....

If the rich were once described as different from you and I, the elete liberals are more so.
Didn't this reporter realize he was asking pointed questions of a god ? ... Granted, a lesser god - that's New York, not Chicago - but a liberal/progressive god none the less.

Of course, it was necessary to check out Mr. Mattera. After all, he could have been a wanted felon - or at least have had an unpaid parking ticket from 1998. Or even if clean, some good old intimidation never hurts.

But why should he have objected to showing a photo ID? ... It's not like he was trying to vote, or something.

He doesn't have to give ID unless he has been given credentials that require him to produce it for their use. Same thing happens to me for some of my credentials.

One didn't get to carry a gun in the Republican national convention either. Where are the howls of protest from the pro-gun crowd there?

Remind me of a familys youngest child who is always whining that he or she is not getting what the other children in the family are getting, the answer from mom and dad is usually "when you grow up a little you'll get what your brother and sister are getting".

Your analogy doesn't fit. It's more like the middle child trying to get a rise out of the old man to show off to his siblings. To think of a politician as a more privileged older sibling having more rights than his constituency (younger siblings)is as distant from the American way as one could get.

Remind me of the older sister that throws a fit over a few droplets on the toilet rim and whines to get mom and dad to hand down a rule that all of the boys must sit to urinate, like her.

I don't know what your second sentence has to do with the thread, but I find all of the places that won't let me carry an annoyance to one degree or another. Heck, I got the stinkeye at a swing club when I refused to take my shoulder-holstered Commander off.

Mattera is acting like an al-Qaeda operative in the first part of the video
trying to get close enough to the mayor to explode his soda bomb. It demonstrates precisely why the mayor needs more protection than the everyday citizen.
