The Evil that Men do: Human Trafficking

Democrat Washington State Senator Jeanne Kohl Wells chaired a hearing of the Senate Law and Justice Committee regarding SB 5669 which would toughen penalties and give law enforcement additional tools in combating human trafficking.

Former Congresswoman Linda Smith testified and introduced two brave young women who experienced the cruelty of trafficking. The first was "Brianna" who as a young girl, honor student, athlete, was almost sold into sexual slavery. She narrowly escaped thanks to a friend's parent who had heard Linda Smith talk about what to watch out for when kids are being lured into sexual slavery. The second woman, "Marie" described being victimized by her family, the social service system, the justice system, and finally, by traffickers. It's heartbreaking testimony, yet you will find yourself awed by her inner strength and determination. Below is the full hearing, but you can scroll to about 47 minutes in to where you see Linda Smith introduce the young women...

    Nothing new
Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that has been—it is what will be again, and that which has been done is that which will be done again; and there is nothing new under the sun. The truth speaks for itself...just sayin...

Were Christians....and most of the white male slave owners who claimed to be Christian....viewed women and ethnic minorities as "property".

And they wrote in the 3/5's clause to make it easier to abolish slavery, although it didn't work out the way they appear to have hoped.

And Christianity does not view women as property, nor ethnic minorities...don't look now but your bigotry has peeked out.

    Really?

So slave owners wrote a clause to make it easier to abolish slavery?

No, moron. The slave owners wanted slaves counted as a full person. Remember, number of congressional delegates is based upon population. If they could boost their population numbers by counting slaves the slave states would be able to have greater representation. It's not like they were going to let those slaves vote...so they'd have more power to fight against anti-slavery efforts. The anti-slavery folks were arguing for slaves not counting at all so the slave states would have less congressional representation.

Get your head out of your posterior and learn some history.

You also forgot that the anti-slavery movement here in the US were the conservative Christian Republicans
Yeah, Conservative Christian Republicans of the 19th century are just like the Conservative Christian Republicans of today. What stupidity.
