A local group in Seattle has decided to march out against Shell Oil. Why? Well, because they are providing a number of jobs to local people who are probably hardest hit by the non-recovery recovery.

They are wildly upset because they want the oil to stay in the ground.

KING 5 had a clip of the Raging Grannies protesting in front of a local market: “We really mean it, no more oil,” protesters were saying.

One of the organizers of the march said allowing Shell Oil to operate at the Port of Seattle was disrespectful for what we have been working for all of these years. What, have they been working for unemployment?

Here’s Seattle, calling for $15 an hour. We have to get better jobs.

Here’s a company that will be placing better jobs right at your doorstep. Yeah, the jobs will only last a few months, but that’s a few months of work – plus that’s the nature of trade jobs.

Shell Oil is adding jobs that wouldn’t be available on land that was vacant.

The oil will be utilized, no matter how many grannies show up to sing about it.

So what is it that’s disrespectful, unless you’re working for no oil anywhere? If so, I’ve got news for you; look around at all the construction taking place. The oil energy is needed.

You’re not really being disrespected, but you might be disrespectful.
