The 2016 presidential race just got a little bit more crowded.

Mike Huckabee has launched his White House bid. I didn’t expect him to walk away from the FOX television show, but once he did I thought, “Well he’s got to run now.”

Huckabee polls really well, or at least he did four years ago amongst varied demographics. The last time he ran in 2008, he came across as a surprise. He was the guy nobody was watching, and then the next thing you know during the debates, he showed his folksy charm, he was amusing, he said the one-liners that capture people’s attention. He managed to steal a spotlight and take a campaign that was literally being run from the trunk of his family car – his daughter was driving him around and basically was his campaign manager – to suddenly being a national force.

Now that people know Huckabee more, the question is if they will be as inclined to give him that second look, and where does he fall in?
