VIDEO: Time's Breast Feeding Mom

Time's attachment parenting cover model mom, appeared on the Today show today along with Dr. William Sears, who lost credibility with me when I heard him agree that kids should never be allowed to "cry it out." He says he's never heard of an "attachment baby" becoming a bully. Interesting science. I wonder if he's visited kids in their teens?

Watch the video. Note when mom speaks to anyone other than the boy, he looks uncomfortable and seems to whine.

breastfeeding after a mouthful of teeth - ridiculous!
What a bamboozled mother she is. She is only teaching her child to manipulate her and everyone else they are in contact with. The child's whining every time she spoke was irritating. I wonder how long anyone other than Daddy can tolerate being in the same room with them for more than 5 minutes. BTW, I nursed 2 of my 3 children, and my daughter all of hers (5). It is a gift to nurse a baby, but there is a reason why babies grow teeth and start walking away from Mommy when able. A baby is nurtured in order to grow-up, not to remain attached to the breast once they're running around the back yard.

    Early Humans....
...quit weaning because children usually became lactose intolerant. That self regulating mechanism is largely gone in humans now. Those that could not drink milk as adults were at a clear disadvantage once people started drinking animal milk. Native Americans on the other hand got sick when introduced to milk by Europeans who had evolved the tolerance.

All that gobbldygook means that it is unnatural to continue to breast feed that late into childhood.

Well, that leaves only Michael Medved and Ciscoe Morris
who have NOT posted on this subject - so far. ................... Dr. Sears may be right, however, about 'attachment babies' not becoming bullies. The longer a kid breast feeds (or sucks a bottle), the more likely he or she will be 'teased' in kindergarten. Kids can be SOOOOO mean. Especially those on solid food.

    Just curious...
about how the dad feels about this. But then again what he thinks really doesn't matter, right?
