Chris Matthews dumbest statement yet?

HA! MSNBC's Chris Matthews is on the warpath against Paul Ryan. It's election season which means everybody's favorite Hardball! becomes Left Curveball. This time, Chris is convinced Paul Ryan doesn't like poor people AND it's unfair to challenge him saying it. Plus, he gets confused about the incentives of earning money vs. being given money.

Watch the full two minutes of hilarity here--courtesy of Hotair!

what else do you make of increasing taxes on poor and middle class to cut taxes for the wealthy? cutting social services in the form of "block grants" which basically means, "never increase funding as inflation makes X dollars worth less"? Sounds like he's a Koch-head to me too... 3.75% of GDP (which is not how you build a budget, make it in dollars, which is how money is spent. Candy bars don't cost a % of GDP, they cost dollars and cents) for discretionary spending, while complaining that defense (part of discretionary) is too low at 3.4%. Doesn't leave much for everyday things like roads, police, fire fighters and educators. And if you think those people are over-paid, then why do you entrust your safety or children to them? (so don't start with that BS)

Integrator is a good bird. Very accurate parrot. Good bird. Repeating the party line makes master very happy. Have cracker. Now, repeat "Throwing granny off a cliff." "Tax cuts for the wealthy." Republicans want dirtier air, water." "Word's out Romney hasn't paid any taxes in the last ten years." See, the leftist line doesn't consist of factual statements, but of personal attacks and screaming unattributed denunciations coupled with misleading statements and outright lies. Why? They haven't a leg to stand on in any reasoned debate over the facts at hand. So, repeat, "Romney is a felon." "Ryan wants to throw grampa out in the snow." "Republicans will gut medicare." (Ignoring the fact 0bama took 750 billion out of current program books to fake together 0bama care.) We could continue but why bother...

Look at Ryan's positions and see if Mathews is wise for pointing out that Ryan:
    1. Opposes abortion even in cases of rape or incest! 2. Cut taxes on the rich, stick the working class w/the bill. 3. Attacks pell grants (for low income students) while giving subsidies to Big Oil. 4. Voted against the Ledbetter fair pay act for women. 5. Opposes family planning services mandated for low income women in favor of insurance corporation profit$. 6. Wants to eliminate medicare protections against market corruption in lieu of a voucher-privatized-non-collective bargaining insurance denial scheme -gutting the safety net. 7. In short, what Ryan wants to do to the American poor...would be illegal in the 27 EU nations, Israel and Canada.

    Matthews is Probably Right
Thinking through Ryan's policy proposals I think Chris Matthews is largely correct.

Ryan is clearly not a conservative. If he was and truly believed in reducing the size and scope of government, he wouldn't have voted for two unfunded wars, an auto bailout, and the bank bailouts. He also would not support federal government intrusion into a woman's right to choose, and promote a Pentagon budget larger than what the Pentagon requested. (Interestingly, his intellectual hero Ayn Rand was opposed to Reagan specifically of the abortion issue. She was pro-choice).

Ryan appears to believe that able bodied poor people are poor because of personal choices and character defects and that government spending only perpetuates a dependency culture. He seems to think that reducing government programs increases self reliance. This is demonstrably false and proves he knows little about how government funded programs for low income people work.

The conclusion is that he has discriminatory views against the poor and working poor in this country. On those grounds alone we should give him and Romney the boot come November.

A non-biased article? How STUPID are YOU? Obama has FAILED MISERABLY at EVERYTHING. Large Businesses in this country are sitting on huge sums of cash and aren't going to hire anybody until Obama is out of Office. He knows nothing about leadership and has ZERO EXPERIENCE in Business. EVen Steve Jobs ( hard core Democrat) said Obama was an IDIOT! Paul Ryan has an excellent plan, but you stupid Democrats seem to the $16 TRILLION in Debt is OK and we can just keep on spending...Totally incompetent and stunningly ignorant!

    Actually maplefish
Jr is the one that ran up the debt. Obama has increased federal spending by only 1.4% (raw dollars) annually. Adjusted for inflation he has DECREASED the budget by 0.1% annually. I see how you're doing the bill o'reilly thing of instead of being right, just trying to be louder. It works better for him than for you, and it doesn't work that well for him... We've gone from losing 800,000 jobs/month (january 2009) to gaining 163,000 jobs/month (july 2012) in 3 1/2 years, can you please cite your source of "Large Business in this country are sitting on huge sums of cash and aren't going to hire anybody until Obama is out of Office" ? It is true they are sitting on huge sums of cash, and lowering their tax rate as Romney/Ryan would do would only encourage them to take more profit, since the taxes on the profit will be lower. It's like this. If I gave you 2 $100 bills, and said, ok, on the first, whatever you don't spend by the end of the day, I'm taking 90% of what's left. with the second, whatever you don't spend by the end of the day, I'm taking 1% of what's left. I imagine, that even in your inability to understand complex math, which is why you fall for trickle down theory, you would still spend that first $100 bill, and spend every last penny, and then probably keep all of the second bill, and give me $1 at the end of the day. That would be smart of you. Congratulations, you now understand why a lower corporate tax rate won't work wonders and will actually cause less spending/hiring. Rewarding business for taking profit with a lower tax rate will only cause them to take more profit.

I'm not sure why the link didn't work for you. It worked ok for me (tried it again). If you copy and paste the title verbatim, "Message to the Voting Cattle - Larken Rose" into the youtube search it should come up as the first and second result.

Thanks for the kudos, but this one wasn't funny. It's pure frustration. It's just that in this case, this guy is way more poignant and way better at expressing how I feel than I am. You may not agree, and those that worship the god of the state will definitely hate it. But everyone should give it a listen and ask yourself some hard questions.

The reason for this seemingly off topic post was because I'm sick of the Dem vs GOP arguments that are nothing but noise and distraction to keep people from realizing the truth. The simple fact is that we are slaves arguing about which slave master should rule over us, steal from us, commit acts of violence against us at home and others abroad, and rob us of our humanity. They are the same thing, two heads of the same monster.

The monster needs to be starved to death before we are...

Me too. That, and the knowledge that things will get much worse before they get better. Sometimes having a soul and a conscience really sucks! It'd be so much easier if I could just let government dictate my morality. :-D

"While we may not agree 100%_"

Aww, that would be just boring. I wouldn't even want that, how would I learn from you? I can tell that we agree on all the things that matter for peaceful coexistence between us. Everything else is just food for thought and good fodder for debate.

Sometime in the not so distant future, if you happen to come across a sign by the road that says 'roomtemp's fix-it shop, soup kitchen, and beer emporium'... Just tell em kata's here. You'll go straight to the head of the line. ;-)
