NEW BOOK explains Obama: What does he really mean when he says something?

As many of you know, a running joke on my show has been the "cult of personality" evidenced by the Obama campaign (the slogans, the hyperbole, the worship, the "O" hand signal", the healing of "the hole in our souls", etc). I've also poked fun at those who claim Obama is Marxist, Socialist, Euro-Socialist, Communist, and especially those who say "free market champion." But rather than try to convince all the different sides to agree on one label, I urged the adoption of a new label "Obamunist"--an ideology in which the most important component is Obama. It's made me laugh since 2008.

Well, I was thumbing through a copy of Chairman Mao's "Little Red Book", a Christmas present from my old friend and mentor Peter Weissbach, and was struck by how the cover symbol reminded me of Obama as well as the stylized portraits inside. In the original, Chairman Mao's various quotes are in English on one side with a translation into Chinese characters on the other. I decided to do a parody in which Obama's quotes would be "translated" into what he really means as if he himself is doing the translation for the faithful.

The book is meant to be fun, a conversation starter (or ender) but also a handy reminder of things the president has said. It's pocket-sized and meant to be a novelty that you might pass on to friends. I hope it gives you a laugh.

    IF Obama was a Maoist.....No corporations would back Obama, Dubya and Cheney would be in prison on war crimes, Wall street would not have been given $787 billion, Troops from Afghanistan would have been brought home from day one, Guantanamo would have been shut down, Travel to Cuba would be Ok, US foreign aid to Israel would have been cut off, Drone strikes would be shut down, Obama would not be sanctioning Iran, the US would not be trying to buyoff Egypt, Syrian rebels, Israel, Colombia, etc, etc.

    It's the same ol' 'anything, no matter how failed, false, trumped up and illogical that says anything bad about Obama is ALWAYS factual. But if you use the same exact logic against a Republican - you're dead wrong and bordering on being unpatriotic as far as these blinded by thier rhetoric and ideology folks go. I'm no Obama lover, but I'm also not blindly and wantonly insane like so many of these right wingers seem to be.

    I think that out-of-context remark used to fire up the right lost its luster probably when people realized the actual context it was in, which was less than a day after he said it. Although, I do admit that he chose his words in poor order.

    Let's talk about Obama's foreign policy. Obama promised to make the Muslim world love us and undo the policies of the Evil Bush administration as the middle east dissolves into bloody savage conflict as Americans are fleeing for their lives and the bodies of 4 Americans return back home as Obama is yanked from the campaign trail hoping for a bounce in the polls and in the meantime nothing has been and nothing will be done about the murders of Americans or those who murdered them!
