A Visual History of the Obama Cult of Personality

I've told folks that my "Little Red Book of Obamunism" parodies both Obama's policy statements AND the cult of personality that the left has built around him. Human Events has put together this handy visual reminder of that cult of personality--click it, then get a few copies of my book and send them to friends in states like VA, MI, WI, FL, OH, IA, etc!

The enablers are printing dollars to keep the cult afloat until after the elections...then all hell breaks loose, when the starry eyed followers of the great Deceiver realize they really are in hell.

Mr. Boze is absolutely right! There is a cult organized around Obama's personality
Apparently, many of the cultists can't spell very well, either.

There's also the cult of 'hate Obama' out there - and they're even more gonzo over it!
Gee - the cult of 'hate Obama' sure is reaching into absurdity these days. It must really burn them that the less than perfect anointed Republican is losing against thier object of hate even in this economy. Even in spite of the actual problems and the more significant 'manufactured' bad of Obama. hey - was Tim Pawlently leaving the campaign just the beginning of the rats deserting the sinking ship of the Romney campaign? Only time will tell...

No "Cult of Personality" around our Mr. Reagan. An empty suit actor who just couldn't recall.

    Lawnboy - that's a sacrilege
That 'empty suit actor' was the last time the presidency and congress were actually civil.

Besides, it seems at times YOU don't recall as well as you think you do.

William Law beat me to it..........
My first thought when I read about this supposed, "Obama Cult of Personality", was of the wide-eyed folks who thought and still think that Ronald Reagan was the greatest President ever. Of course, he was a Republican, so it's totally different..........

And just what has Obama done similar to bringing an end to the Cold War?
Pretty dang good for an actor, eh?

As I remember, it was Gorbachev who ended the cold war in 1991. Don't drink too much of the right-wing koolaid.

    close, but no cigar -
The Berlin wall fell in 1989 and the Soviet Union was disbanded in 1991 (after Russia pulled out - what was the point?). But the Cold War was effectively ended during Reagan's 2nd term - basically after Gorbi's 2nd meeting with Reagan. After 1987, we were much less likely to go to war and in the 1988 elections people were already talking about the 'Peace Dividend'.

About the only people any more why do NOT credit Reagan are a few die hard lefties and Bush I (who thinks HE should get the credit). ..... But, cigar fan, I've never thought YOU would be a supporter of George H.W. Bush. (LOL)

well, you're right about trusting your instincts about me supporting Bush. (I don't). Reagan or Bush, take your pick, didn't control the USSR or East Germany. I really don't remember them getting their hands dirty or even breaking a sweat. I don't know why right wingers are so attracted to this idea. It's like a conservative fantasy that the US defeated Germany. The Red Army did the lion's share of the work, the US/UK/CA decided to wait until June 1944 to invade France. I think the root defect is conservative amnesia.

The differences between Reagan and Bush (either) are night and day - but that's a different blog.
Well, Gorbachev didn't exactly break a sweat, either, but it was that fateful summit in Reykjavik in 1986 that began the end of the Cold War. ... And then there was that little off the cuff remark in Berlin about 'Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.' - but I guess if you don't 'win' a Nobel Peace Prize, you've done nothing.

    .

BTW, revisionist history. The Red Army might have gone nowhere, save for the supply line from the USA.

That's exactly my point, Gorbachev held power over the USSR -not Reagan. Do you remember Glasnost and Perestroika? This is a perfect example of the conservative delusion and amnesia.
    { "Thumbs Up":"1","Thumbs Down":"-1" }
  • ron prevost wrote...
    still, no cigar -
Glasnost and Perestroika might have worked to maintain the USSR intact had it not been for the positive (friendship) and the pressure (star wars, wall, etc.) of Ronald Reagan.

Or, don't you think FDR had anything to do with ending WWII either? ........... Credit is due where credit is due.

I'm not saying Reagan and FDR didn't do anything, I'm saying that the Russians did about 80-90% of the sacrifices. I'm glad FDR and Reagan enjoyed speaking to microphones but comparing 27 million Russian casualties to 500k American Casualties is almost a joke. Talk about where credit is due.......
