(AP) - DOWN ON THE FARM: Deere & Co. predicted a profit of about $3.2 billion, better than analysts expected. But it was cautious on several fronts. And fourth-quarter results missed analysts' expectations.
2013 FARM EQUIPMENT SPENDING HARVEST: U.S.: Flat. Europe: Flat to down 5 percent. South America: Up 10 percent. Asia: Little change.
ROW TO HOE: Deere is holding back on big spending projects until January, to see how the economic situation shapes up.
