Clarification: Power Scooters-Fraud storyApril 8, 2013 @ 3:49 pm
WASHINGTON (AP) - In a story March 28 about Medicare purchases of power wheelchairs and scooters, The Associated Press reported that government inspectors say up to 80 percent of the scooters and power wheelchairs Medicare buys go to people who don't meet requirements. The story should have said that the percentage includes people who did not have the proper documentation for their claim, as well as those who don't have a medical need.
