This man says he could end the war tomorrow.
In recent years, every fights between Israel and the Palestinians peters out in a cloud of confusion, with both sides claiming victory.
The deputy speaker of the Israeli Knesset says this fight should end differently.
“You don’t run after tunnel. You don’t go into the homes. You hit leadership hard.”
This is Deputy Speaker Moshe Feglin, elected just last year. He told his audience the two-state solution everybody talks about won’t work, because the Palestinians of Gaza are not innocent victims. They voted for Hamas.
“Hamas was elected by most of the population. Hamas is getting its power from that population.”
He says Israeli soldiers should not be risking their lives to save civilians. They should attack in the way that the Torah commands.
“As Torah tells us, we should leave one of the corners open for them to run away and those who don’t do it, it’s their problem.”
And then, the army should take complete possession of Gaza.
“We should destroy Hamas and take over the whole city and we should do it according to Jewish moral. The question is: What are we going to do afterwards?”
And here’s what he would do: he would pay to relocate any Gaza resident who wants to leave. He figures about 80 percent would take the deal.
For those who do want to stay and are willing to live under Israeli rule, they would get a chance to become legal residents.
But for those who will neither leave nor accept Israeli sovereignty?
“Those who fought you in the past or don’t accept your sovereignty today should be destroyed or sent away,” he says.
Any questions?
