The mayors of Seattle and Denver are making their bets on Super Bowl XLVIII.
Seattle Mayor Ed Murray said it’s not likely he’ll have to send his Denver counterpart anything. “This is a fantasy on their part.”
Just in case, Murray said he would send the Denver mayor salmon and Dungeness crab, a road bike from Seattle’s Rodriguez Bicycles, and a piece of blown glass from world-renowned local artist Dale Chihuly.
Murray also said he’ll be wearing Broncos pajamas on Feb. 6 – Pajama Day – to raise awareness for Denver’s Road Home, a 10-year plan to end homelessness in Denver.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock shared his wager over the phone Monday.
“I will send to Seattle a sample of some of Denver’s finest green chile, a hoodie, ball cap and skis handmade by Denver’s locally owned and grown small business, Icelantic Skis,” said Hancock.
Murray issued a proclamation declaring this week Seahawks Blue Week. Seattle City Hall and Seattle City Council Chambers will be lit up in blue and green Monday night.
