Seattle Children’s thanks Seahawks’ Russell Wilson

It’s no secret Russell Wilson is now a beloved figure to Seattle and beyond, but at Seattle Children’s he’s more than a star quarterback for the Seahawks.
Wilson and his wife, Ashton, are at the hospital almost every Tuesday visiting with the children and staff. Wilson has been known to tweet about his experience and even talk about what happens during his visits during news conferences.
But it’s become obvious Wilson has a deep connection to the patients and their families. To them, Wilson’s visits are a much-needed distraction and an opportunity to be nothing but a kid excited to see their favorite quarterback.
And because of that gift, Seattle Children’s, with help from reporter Owen, is thanking Wilson for his dedication.
“Russell, we cannot thank you enough for coming to see our little miracle baby. She’s obviously a huge Seahawks fan,” said Abi’s mom.
“Thank you for all that you do, taking the time out of your busy schedule to come visit the kids here at the hospital,” said a hospital staff member. “I know it’s a cliche when they say you’re a better human being than you are a football player, but you truly are – and you’re an amazing football player.”
Go Hawks!
Children’s will be honoring Wilson and the Seahawks Tuesday by raising the 12th Man flag. Wilson and a few more Hawks will hang out with patients and their families.
