Police ‘very confident’ human remains are that of missing Renton woman

Apr 11, 2016, 9:19 AM | Updated: Apr 12, 2016, 5:36 am

The Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole said police were “confident” that the human remains found in a Central District recycling bin Saturday night are from a Renton mother of three who has been missing since Friday.

Police said John Robert Charlton, 37, was arrested in Snohomish County and is in custody in King County. He was booked for investigation of murder. The investigation is ongoing, but O’Toole said police don’t believe there are any outstanding suspects. Police are still searching for a silver 2015 Toyota Highlander with the license plate AUW3230.

The human remains were packaged and dumped in a bin near the 1600 block of 21st Avenue and Pine, Seattle police previously reported. A neighbor made the horrifying discovery at about 4 p.m. Saturday.

Original story:

Swedish Medical Center confirmed Sunday that Ingrid Lyne, a nurse employed by the nonprofit health provider, has been reported missing.

Neighbors say Lyne, a 40-year-old Renton woman, went missing Friday night, April 8, after attending the Mariners home opener in Seattle with a date. That date has been difficult to contact according to neighbors and family.

According to neighbors, Seattle police showed up at her house late Saturday night and were there for several hours. Her purse and phone were still at the home.

Lyne’s car is also missing. Friends say this is extremely out of character for the woman.
