2 children killed in Cle Elum house fire

Two young boys, aged 3 and 4, died Friday afternoon in a house fire in Cle Elum, Kittitas County Emergency officials confirmed.
Kittitas County firefighters were called to a house on Third Street for a report of a house fire with two children inside, according to the Kittitas County Fire District No. 7 Twitter feed.
The boys’ mother suffered minor burns to her arms. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported, KING 5 reports.
“Upon arrival, police officers and paramedics attempted to enter the home but were overcome by smoke. Cause of the fire is under investigation,” said a subsequent tweet from Kittitas County Emergency
A representative of the American Red Cross in Ellensburg told The Seattle Times that representatives are at the scene helping the grieving family.
“It’s a horrible situation. We have people who are therapists if the family wants it,” said Colleen Riley, disaster workforce coordinator for the American Red Cross in Ellensburg.
