Are you eager to have the government have more data about every single mile you drive?
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that there is a major and controversial attempt in Washington D.C. and states around the country to put black boxes in every single car of every single citizen.
The boxes have GPS monitoring. The government would then track every single mile you drive. They can also track your location so they know exactly where you are at all times.
They would start taxing every single American on how many miles you drive. As cars get more and more fuel efficient, the gas tax just isn’t sustainable, and they need to find other ways to raise money.
What I find amazing about this – I’m a perfect example. I used to drive a convertible that was high performance. We’ve had SUV’s in our family. And for a lot of reasons for the last three to four months, I’m driving a hybrid, where 95 percent of my driving is on the all electric range. So I’m getting about 200 miles per gallon. I feel pretty good about that because I’m helping the environment, right?
Well, now you’re being punished for that, all of us hybrid and electric car drivers. They need to find a way to punish us after they’ve been telling us for decades that we need to transform our mentality.
I’ve sincerely bought into it. I love getting 200 miles to the gallon. I love never having to put gas in my car. Now, their attitude is we’ve got to find a way to punish you.
This program has already been tested here in our state. Now, D.C. at a federal level, would like to get these black boxes in every car in the country.
I don’t want the government to have a black box in my car. I don’t want them to know where I go, how much I drive, where I am. That’s none of their business. This is the trend though. It’s a wondrous time of freedom in America.
