Small town politics got heated during a mayoral debate in Bremerton where it was revealed one candidate has a lifetime ban from all Starbucks locations.

Bremerton mayor Patty Lent brought up some dirt about challenger Todd Best’s confrontation with a Starbucks employee during last Sunday night’s debate on The Outlaw Radio Network.

Best acknowledged he had a disagreement earlier this year with an employee at the local Starbucks when his cell phone was thrown into the garbage.

“After throwing my cell phone into the garbage can, I took her off to the side and had words with her one-on-one. She was not happy with the way that I discussed the matter with her. She said she didn’t feel comfortable with having me in her workplace environment,” said Best.

Best was issued a lifetime ban from Starbucks after the employee said she didn’t feel comfortable with him there. Best said residents still support him.

“I go to Silverdale in the morning and have my coffee. It’s in the paper today. Why? Because a lot of my supporters live in the Bangor base. They live in Poulsbo, Silverdale. They come from all over the county,” said Best.

Best insists if he’s elected, this ban will have no impact on his ability to do his job, except for he might be a little more groggy.
