SEATTLE (AP) - Right-hander Hector Noesi has been optioned by the Seattle Mariners to Triple-A Tacoma and the team recalled right-hander Blake Beavan.

Seattle made the roster moves to help out its bullpen on Thursday before opening a four-game series against the New York Yankees.

Noesi threw three innings of relief and got the loss in Seattle's 16-inning marathon loss to the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. Beavan was already scheduled to throw in the minors on Thursday, so Seattle made the move to make sure it had a possible long reliever out of the bullpen.

Beavan started the season in the Mariners rotation but was optioned to Tacoma on May 1.

sure hope dustin figures out his swing! noesi seems to work well out of the pen! with both franklin and truinfel in seattle, I hope they get some games-in-a-row to learn major league pitching! what is ryan's batting ave. for the last 15 games? it is a little surprising to see the box score and he is "2 for 4" or such, I don't have any faith he can continue a .260 ave all season. but time will tell. good luck franklin

That would be all that's left now from the Doug Fister/David Pauley trade, since we're sending Francisco Martinez back to the Tigers. I wonder who we'll get for him? A bat boy? Maybe a peanut vendor? Yuck.

A catcher needed as badly as a #5 starter.....
... and the ever-AWOL long reliever. It's that kind of a year. I'd expect the All-Star break to be, well, busier than usual for player transactions. As for Fister, he was the only player of any true value then. It's offset, perhaps, by getting Iwakuma, who could have stayed put in Japan.

Why does this keep showing up!
My Fister comment is being recycled every time an AP article comes up! I made this comment over 2 weeks ago! Get it together KIRO! It has nothing to do with this article! Who is in charge there? You guys are a bunch of idiots!

For Wilson, still plenty to prove after stellar debut

Russell Wilson showed he's the Seahawks' quarterback of the future thanks to a outstanding rookie season. But that alone hasn't convinced everyone he's destined for greatness.
