    Sounds good in theory
Salk, I have noticed the M's take so many first pitch strikes right down the middle that it is almost unbearable. They are not good enough hitters to just give away strikes. The opposing pitchers know our hitters are up trying to work the count, easy strike one. The pitcher is not afraid even if the batter does swing at the first pitch because more than likely it won't be a hit. I like them not wasting at bats but I would rather see them swing at the first pitch than watch go right down the middle and basically start the at bat 0-1.

    It makes me sick.....
to watch MLB highlights of other teams constantly hitting the ball hard seemingly every time they connect. Putting good hard swings on the ball and driving it regardless if they get on base or not. Then having to watch big strong guys like Smoak swing like an absolute wuss, which produces either a strike out or a weak pop-out. And I won't even go into depth on how disgusted I am to constantly watch every single batter (except maybe Seager and Montero) go up and be good for just taking pitches with the look that they have no interest in swinging before the pitch is even thrown. Screw the Mariners.

    Get another hitting coach....
...that doesn't teach wasted at-bats or how to chill at the plate when you're just a kid. Wedge has an FO problem with the vets, and nothing will change in the FO, as we all know. When's the NFl pre-season anyway?! Do we hafta wait til August?!

Bruce Irvin's misstep changes Seahawks' outlook

I thought the Seahawks could go undefeated after the additions they made to an already-strong roster via free agency and the draft. But Bruce Irvin's four-game suspension is making me waffle a bit.
