Global warming makes feeding the world harder and more expensive, a United Nations scientific panel said. A warmer world will push food prices higher, trigger "hotspots of hunger" among the world's poorest people, and put the crunch on Western delights like fine wine and robust coffee, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded in a 32-volume report issued Monday, March 31, 2014. “The evidence for human-caused climate change is overwhelming,” said Britain’s chief scientist as the United Nations issued its latest report on climate change.

“One message that comes out very clearly is that the world has to adapt,” said the chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

And if we don’t, we will all find ourselves in a disaster movie, because “Rising temperatures will kill off fish, turn farmland into desert, trigger epidemics, and threaten civilization itself,” as CBS’ Vicki Barker reported.

And not only that, but the coffee producing areas of central and South America may no longer be economically viable.

We’ll start running out of coffee!

But you and I both know one thing. We are not going to do anything about it. We are not going to read a 2,600 page report, and we are not going to adapt.

The internal dialogue goes something like this, “I can change my entire lifestyle, or, I can decide all these scientists are deluded.”

That’s where another climate change group comes in – the non-governmental international panel on climate change.

They’re funded by the Libertarian Heartland Institute and next week they’ll release their latest report on climate change, which, according to Dr. Craig Idso, documents the real impact of CO2.

“The impact on plants of rising CO2, is very much positive,” said Idso.

Plants are better off.

What about animals?

“The claim that animals species are going to be driven to extinction, we devastate that hypothesis,” he reported.

The animals will be fine. And – people? “Actually, people live longer as the temperatures are warmer.” The people will be fine.

So you can choose your vision: “Oh my God the world is coming to an end we have to do something!” or, “Nothing to see here, go back to your homes.”

Ross: Are we killing car culture? Or is car culture killing the US?

I don’t think the question is whether we're going to "kill" our car culture. The real question is can we stop our car culture from killing the U.S.?

Every move you make, every swerve you take, every lane change you fake – someone’s watching you. Do drivers have a right to keep driving data private?
