Everett Police seek help to find suspect in child abduction case

Sep 23, 2013, 6:13 AM | Updated: 6:53 am

A 5-year-old girl was abducted from her south Everett apartment over the weekend, and the police need your help to find the man who took her.

The man used a wooden pallet to climb into the girl’s bedroom in an apartment complex on 112th Street. You can see him carrying the girl out of the parking lot on surveillance video.

The girl was found safe about a mile away.

Everett Police believe the man took the child along the Interurban Trail with the intention of sexually assaulting her, but for some reason did not carry out the attack. The girl was unharmed.

“What we’re really asking the public is anyone living near or who was on the Interurban Trail in the early morning hours between 112th and Everett Mall and that saw or heard anything suspicious they’re asked to call 911,” said Aaron Snell with the Everett Police Department. “We would definitely like to talk with anybody that has any information.”

The suspect is described as a darker-skinned man with a normal build but slightly shorter than average. He was wearing light-colored jeans, a dark shirt and had earrings.
