A man who allegedly shot a woman and fled, sparking a widespread manhunt in SeaTac, has shot himself in the stomach.

The incident began Thursday afternoon when the man pulled out a gun and shot the woman as they drove together in the area of S. 133rd Street and 24th Ave. S., according to King County Sheriff’s Sgt. Cindi West.

West says the woman either got out or was pushed out of the car and the gunman drove off. He got about half a block before crashing through a fence into a neighbor’s yard.

He somehow got another car and eventually abandoned it nearby in the area of S. 128th Street and Military Road.

The gunman fled into the nearby woods, prompting a manhunt that lasted about 40 minutes until deputies found him.

Both the gunman and woman were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Their conditions are unknown.
West says authorities don’t know what sparked the shooting.
