One man was killed and a second victim wounded in a shooting early Monday, just after midnight, in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood.
Seattle police report the victims were in a car parked outside a market at Eastlake Ave E. and E. Lynn Street when the shooting occurred.
“They decided to stop at the market. They pulled into the alley behind the store. One of the people got out to go into the store, the other two people remained in the car,” says Seattle Police Detective Mark Jamieson.
The surviving victim tells police an unknown suspect, possibly wearing a hooded sweatshirt, approached the vehicle and started firing. Both occupants of the vehicle were hit.
One victim, a male in his 20’s, was killed at the scene. The other victim, also a male in his 20’s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police located a suspect car that matched a witness description and took several people into custody. They are still investigating whether the car or the people in custody actually are connected to the shooting.
