The accolades continue for Seahawks' quarterback Russell Wilson, as the rookie phenom was added Monday to the NFC roster for Sunday's Pro Bowl in Hawaii.

Wilson will replace the Falcons' Matt Ryan, who suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's NFC championship loss to the 49ers, ESPN's Mike Sando reported.

Ryan will miss the game, as will Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers and Washington's Robert Griffen III, who also pulled out because of injuries.

Wilson finished his stellar first season passing for 3,118 yards and 26 touchdowns in leading Seattle to the second round of the playoffs.

Wilson is the Seahawks' first Pro Bowl quarterback since Matt Hasselbeck and the first quarterback in team history to achieve Pro Bowl status for the team as one of its own draft choices, Sando reports.

I guess there are not many fans in Seattle who are surprized, but knowing the M.O. of RW, he is far from satisfied and he will undoubtedly pick up next year where he left off. Nonetheless, kudos to him for a reat first season.

    TYPICAL CH
CH is uninformed again!!! It would actually be a surprise if he had anything substantial to say but again he lets us down. Just like your take on the Sonics situation you're in way over your head. If you had a brain you would know that according to the new CBA rookie contracts can't be changed until after the third year of service. When will you shut up? Why don't you leave the comment boards for the big boys? I hope your Mom cancels your internet access so we all can have a break. GO HAWKS!!! GO SONICS!!! GO AWAY CH!!!

Unfortunately due to the new CBA, Russell can't renegotiate until year 3.

    Unfortunately?
It's not my money, but be grateful that Russell is affordable right now. We have a lot of guys that are going to want their due (Sherman, okung, chancellor, browner, kj, Wagner) soon, and the salary cap means we won't be able to keep them all. Now THAT'S unfortunate. The good news is that Paul Allen can invest more money elsewhere in the roster in the meantime, and make the next two years a pretty powerful window for us, if done correctly.

    Honeymoon!
This is great! Now Russell and Ashton can have a Pro bowl honeymoon in Hawaii! ;) As far as his contract goes, we need to make sure that when them in local restaurants, that we always pick up the tab for them. His agent needs to get him some more TV deals as well...
