Aaron Curry's brief and disappointing tenure with the Seahawks appears to be over.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports and ESPN's Adam Schefter both report that the Seahawks and Raiders have agreed to a trade that would send Curry to Oakland for a pair of undisclosed draft picks, one this year and one next year.

Danny O'Neil of The Seattle Times reports the picks are conditional, based on Curry's playing time with the Raiders.

Curry, the fourth overall pick out of Wake Forest in 2009, wasn't at practice Wednesday. His locker had been cleaned out. The team has yet to officially comment, but some of Curry's teammates indicated that he had said his goodbyes.

"He came and said how much he had learned from us and how much he's going to miss us and everything," linebacker Leroy Hill told 710 ESPN's Liz Mathews and other assembled media members.

"It's a new beginning for him, and hopefully he steps to the plate. I think down there he won't have all those high expectations that he had here so he can relax and just play ball."

Recent developments suggested that a move of some sort was going to be made with Curry. The Seahawks restructured his contract sometime before the season, chopping off the final two years of the six-year deal he signed as a rookie. That made him a free agent after the 2012 season.

Curry lost his starting job after Week 2 to rookie K.J. Wright, a fourth-round pick, and hasn't played particularly well in limited action. He was out of position on a Michael Turner touchdown run in Week 4, a play Brock Huard broke down in Chalk Talk. He missed an open-field tackle late in Sunday's win over the Giants before lettig an easy interception bounce off his hands, a mistake that could have been more costly had Kam Chancellor not caught the deflection to end the game.

Those types of mistakes seemed to typify Curry's two-plus years in Seattle.

Not that many could have seen it coming. Curry was viewed by several analysts as the safest pick of the 2009 draft.

"I'm shocked," ESPN's Todd McShay told "Brock and Salk" last week when asked about Curry's lack of production. "I thought he was instinctive, he had the measurables, he wasn't the elite elite athlete but he was just a notch below, he was versatile, tough, productive. He didn't miss in any category that you look for at that position. He was, if not the elite, then he was a notch below."

    CURRY!
Not going to lie kinda pissed about this trade, are going to tell me we have a better option right now? We dont! Not only that but a 7th round pick and a conditional pick in 2013, come on Pete.

    Dont know why your pissed
He cant tackle, was on special teams because a rookie out played him. Hes been on the trade waiver for weeks, and this is obviously the best offer. Which speaks alot of his talents

I wish AC all the best....
Maybe in the new city, new environment and new cheerleaders will bring in something good out of AC. Its not a good idea to have a player making millions in slary and no production for last 3 years. Seahawks gave him enough opprtunities @ different positions in the "D" and still he kept dropping the lolly pops...doesnt work in NFL. Wish u all the best AC...hope Oakland brings you the success and money u were dreaming for. this is another reason why NFL needs to have rookie salary structure, so that the good talent get money they deserve and owners dont loose money on the busts.

If we didn't have a better option Curry would still be here.

KJ Wright outplayed him and if Malcolm Smith hadn't gotten hurt, I am sure he would have taken his place as well, Smith was a 7th round pick.

I don't get what you mean we didn't have a better option?

Can't afford to have a 1st rounder making 1st round money and playing like a 3rd rounder at best.

    It's good that the players
in Seattle are finally being held accountable. Now how about the coaching staff. Offensively, we look good in the "no-huddle", but otherwise it's the penalties for false starts and holding that kill us. Defensively, Men, this is not flag football; you GOTTA wrap up on those tackles!!

    Wow
If not the biggest bust in Hawks history he's certainly on the list. I was psyched when they drafted him so count me amongst those fooled.

    Curry
Only time will tell, but what do we do if KJ gets hurt? I havent seen anough out of him to be convinced hes a starter. Dont get my wrong AC wasnt exactly lighting people up, but in the Atlanta game Ryan floated a TD pass right over KJ he was out of position. Its not like we are making this move to save money, he restructured his contract. I just dont see the timing. If we could have gotten a 3rd or 4th round pick this year maybe I see it. But for a 7th in 2012 and 4th or 5th in 2013. Just dont agree. I wish him all the luck and hope he gets the chance, this might be one of those trades we want back 2 years from now.

Kj getting beat on a play for a touchdown is unfortunate but it is part of football, you win some and you are going to lose some in the game of football. I don't believe players in the hall of fame NEVER got beat on the field.

What a coach looks for is consistency in how you play, consistency in carrying out your assignments, consistency in making tackles your going to get beat or juked sometimes, but you should break down square up, take correct angles etc, consistency in recognizing what the coaching staff went over during the week i.e. scouting report and executing whatever the defensive coordinator comes up with against the team that's you have to play and more importantly they want a FOOTBALL player that have INSTINCTS.

Curry has not been able to display any of these qualities since he came to Seattle

As I mentioned before, Malcolm Smith is coming back and before his injury, he was getting significant playing time at Curry's position in the pre-season and was OUTPLAYING Curry but hurt his hamstring, I believe he is ready to come back and contribute.

Bottom line, who wants to pay 1st round money to someone sitting on the bench and the only restructure to Curry's contract is that they took the last 2 yrs off of his contract.

    So far, so good.
I like that Pete Carroll understands what it means to OVERHAUL a team. It couldn't have been an easy decision and the fact that we couldn't get more for Curry speaks to his own failings. He hasn't shown the smarts of a pro star yet. And Carroll's style requires a higher degree of intelligence on the field. The impatience & ignorance of some local fans is annoying, and the hawks may not be great this season (or maybe even next), but trying to pin together a true winner out of expensive underperformers is no way to go forward. As I said before, I like what Pete has done for the Hawks so far -- against all odds -- and I like where he is going.

See what he delivers at Oakland....
....then judge. The Seahawks may get a hidden blessing in disguise (ie Doug Baldwin-type) with AD gone to pigskin heaven and new blood in Oakland. This would be handy in a year or two, you never know. The other issue is, with the dominance of Al gone, who/what fills that vacuum??

I won't miss him because he never did anything for us.
Just another Seahawks draft bust. He's young. He'll play for quite awhile. We may even see him on a good team in the playoffs along with the rest of the players that didn't stick around. We could field a team of former Mariners with players that made it to the post season this year. Seahawks same thing.
