A Federal Way woman called 911 during her own arrest, claiming police brutality, but officers say she assaulted them.
Megan Graham, 36, says she pulled into an apartment complex parking lot where she was going to visit a friend, when an police cruiser drove up behind her with its lights flashing.
The Federal Way Mirror reports Graham told the officers that she was hard of hearing and was going to take her dog to the friend’s apartment she had intended on visiting, when the confrontation began.
The officer said he tried to detain Graham and was met with resistance. The officer told her she was under arrest and a second officer arrived to assist.
Graham claims during the altercation, during which she called 911 and said she intended to citizen arrest her arresting officer, she was threatened with a Taser, wrestled to the ground, and punched in the face three times.
Federal Way Police are reviewing the case. She’s been charged with assaulting an officer and has a court appearance scheduled next week.
