Boy, 10, sentenced to 3 to 5 years for plot to kill classmates

A 10-year-old Eastern Washington boy has been sentenced to several years in juvenile detention after plotting to kill several of his 5th grade classmates.
The boy and another classmate were students at Fort Colville Elementary School in February and intended on killing their classmates, including his young girlfriend.
The two took a gun, ammunition and a knife to school to carry out the attack.
The boy pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, witness tampering and firearms possession.
The prosecutor had wanted a six-year sentence. A Stevens County judge decided he should serve between three and five years.
His 11-year-old accomplice is due in court later this month.
